About the Role

You'll be a key player responsible for enterprise systems serving clients in regulated industries, with a strong focus on banking and fintech — owning them end to end, from architecture decisions through hands-on development to production health. Our codebase reflects the reality of long-lived enterprise systems: some is modern (Spring Boot, containerized, CI/CD), and some is mature and well-understood (JSP, jQuery, WebSphere, JBoss EAP) and earns its keep. You'll maintain the latter while driving the former, modernizing incrementally where it delivers real value, not change for its own sake. This is a senior role requiring 5+ years of professional Java experience, and it carries genuine production-support responsibility, including server-level troubleshooting on Linux hosts.

What You'll Do

Design & Development

• Own the design, development, and deployment of solutions across the full stack — you make the architectural calls and stand behind them.
• Drive the full software lifecycle: design, build, test, release, and support.
• Lead technical investigation of new tools and approaches, producing clear specifications, proofs of concept, and test coverage.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner directly with internal and external stakeholders to turn ambiguous requirements into working systems, and translate technical trade-offs for non-technical audiences.
• Set the bar in code review and mentor less-experienced engineers.

Deployment & Production Support

• Install, configure, and tune application and web servers across dev, staging, and production.
• Provide production support — server-level troubleshooting, log analysis, and performance diagnostics on Linux hosts.
• Help steer incremental modernization of legacy components without destabilizing what works.

What We're Looking For (Required)

• A degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years building and shipping production Java applications, with depth in Spring, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, web services(SOAP & RESTful), JMS, and SQL.
• Solid experience building web applications with JSP, Servlets, Thymeleaf, JavaScript, Bootstrap, CSS, jQuery, and AJAX — comfortable maintaining mature front-end code, not just greenfield SPAs.
• A track record of owning systems in production, not just writing features and handing them off.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to present technical detail to non-technical stakeholders.
• A self-starter who delivers high-quality work, learns fast, and stays focused on the customer and end user.

Nice to Have

• Banking or fintech domain knowledge — you understand the constraints of regulated financial systems.
• Hands-on experience installing and configuring JBoss EAP / WildFly, IBM WebSphere, and Apache HTTP Server (deployment, datasource/JNDI, SSL, clustering, tuning).
• Linux administration — networking and connectivity troubleshooting, file management, users and groups, permissions, ownership, and SSH.
• Shell scripting (Bash) for automation and operational tasks.
• Containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery.
• Exposure to AI technologies and software automation.
