About the role:
IT Strategy Planning (IT Business Partner)
An IT Business Partner for a sales company acts as the bridge between the business and Regional IT Service Delivery, is a strategic enabler in use of digital technology to support business growth, efficiency, customer engagement, operational excellence and business transformation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understand sales business needs: Work closely with sales, marketing, customer service, supply chain and finance operations teams to understand priorities, pain points, and growth plans.
- Translate business requirements into IT solutions: Convert business challenges into requirements for IT Delivery teams, vendors, or solution providers.
- Support business process clarity with business users, simplifications, streamline between business product teams
- Drive digital transformation: Identify opportunities to improve processes through CRM, data analytics, automation, AI, mobile tools, and e-commerce platforms.
- Manage IT demand and priorities: Evaluate, prioritize, and coordinate IT requests based on business value, urgency, cost, and strategic alignment with Business Management.
- Ensure successful system adoption: Support change management, user training, communication, and adoption of new digital tools.
- Partner with Regional IT delivery teams: Coordinate with applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other teams to deliver reliable and secure solutions.
- Manage vendors and budgets: Oversee external solution providers, project costs, service levels, and return on investment.
- Act as a strategic advisor: Recommend technology roadmaps that help the sales company improve competitiveness, customer experience, and productivity.

Malaysia IT Service Leader:
- Serve as the key IT advisor to Malaysia country leadership and Panasonic companies in in Malaysia.
- Provide leadership for IT service adoptions across Panasonic companies in Malaysia, in close collaboration with regional service leaders.
- IT Operations & Service Delivery: Identify and review opportunities to improve service delivery, quality and costs effectiveness. Ensure agreed service levels are consistently achieved or exceeded.
- Projects Execution: Collaborate with APAC teams to deliver country-level projects effectively and in alignment with regional standards and priorities. Plan and coordinate business readiness activities to support successful implementation of regional projects.
Resource Management:
- For APAC Roles resources, make plans with Regional Service Teams and staff resources required, provided out of Malaysia to APAC group companies
- Develop career plans for team members and strengthen organisational capability by developing and growing critical expertise
Financial Management
- Responsible for preparation of annual business plan
- Manage and control actual expenses to meet Business Plan figures or better
- Monitor forecasts and manage variances against the business plan.
REQUIREMENTS
- 15+ years of experience providing IT services to business users in an enterprise environment, business partnering, people leadership, and business transformation is preferred.
- Strong business acumen, organisational capability, and customer focus.
- Excellent communication skills and cultural awareness, with the ability to operate effectively in a Japanese business environment.
- Proven people leadership experience, with a passion for building, developing, and sustaining high-performing teams.
- A self-starter who demonstrates initiative, ownership, accountability, and leadership.
- Professional communication skills in English and Mandarin.
- Resilient and results-driven, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work effectively in diverse environments, adapt quickly, and collaborate across teams and functions.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects with a value of at least USD 2 million.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration with relevant IT management or leadership experience, or a degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
Travel Requirements:
- Frequent travel within Malaysia to visit group companies.
- Overseas travel is expected approximately five times per year.
