Our client, a leading asset management organisation with a strong presence in Hong Kong is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Risk Management to join their Risk Management function. This is a hands-on operational risk role supporting the business in identifying, assessing, and managing operational risks across different functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct operational risk assessments across business functions including operations, asset management, leasing, procurement, outsourced services, and corporate support teams
Review business processes, identify control gaps, and recommend practical improvements
Maintain risk registers, risk assessments, and supporting documentation
Work with stakeholders to track and implement risk mitigation actions
Support investigations into operational incidents, errors, losses, and near misses
Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
Prepare risk reports, dashboards, and management updates
Support risk reviews for new processes, system enhancements, and business initiatives
Partner with regional teams to promote consistent risk management practices
Key Requirements:
Degree holder in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Engineering, or related disciplines
Minimum 8 years of experience in operational risk, internal controls, internal audit, or risk management
Strong experience in reviewing business processes and identifying control weaknesses
Hands-on experience supporting remediation and process improvements
Experience working with business stakeholders and operational teams
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience within asset management, financial services, or large corporate environments is preferred
