We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs deployed on cloud platforms. The ideal candidate has strong experience in Node.js, cloud-native application development, API integration, and modern DevOps practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Build and integrate backend services with relational databases, cloud storage, and workflow orchestration components.
• Develop asynchronous processing solutions and implement long-running job orchestration using cloud-native services.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize applications running on cloud platforms and containerized environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment and delivery.
• Implement robust logging, monitoring, observability, and error-handling mechanisms to ensure application reliability.
• Optimize database performance through efficient SQL queries and schema design.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production deployments, post-go-live monitoring, enhancement releases, and incident resolution.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
• Ensure backend applications adhere to security, scalability, and performance best practices.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of backend software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express.js.
• Solid experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, including services like:
• AWS Lambda
• API Gateway
• Step Functions
• ECS/EKS or other container services
• Strong SQL development skills with hands-on experience in PostgreSQL.
• Experience with asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures.
• Experience using Docker and containerized application deployment.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment automation.
• Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
