Job Description

Responsibilities

A Safety Coordinator and Supervisor in construction

manages daily site operations while enforcing workplace safety

. They conduct site inspections, implement risk management plans, enforce regulations, and ensure workers utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Core Responsibilities

  • Site Inspections: Conduct daily safety walks to identify hazards, inspect machinery/equipment, and issue immediate corrective actions. [1, 2]
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure site activities align with local workplace safety and health (WSH) laws, such as Ministry of Manpower (MOM) regulations in Singapore. [1]
  • Incident Management: Investigate near-misses and accidents, prepare incident reports, and develop remedial solutions. [1, 2]
  • Safety Documentation: Update safety management systems, keep records of safety committee meetings, and maintain necessary construction permits. [1, 2]

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Certifications: Typically requires a valid, state-recognized WSH Coordinator qualification or an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health.
  • Experience: Usually 2 to 5 years of practical experience in site operations, construction supervision, or health and safety.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of WSH Act protocols, risk assessment methodologies, and emergency response management.
