JOB PURPOSE

The QA Technician is responsible for performing quality inspections and testing on incoming materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, company quality standards, and automotive industry requirements. The incumbent supports the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS), assists in quality improvement activities, and ensures only conforming products are released for production and shipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Incoming Quality Control (IQC)

• Perform inspection of incoming raw materials and components according to inspection plans and specifications.
• Verify supplier materials meet quality requirements before acceptance.
• Record inspection results and report non-conforming materials to the QA Engineer or Supervisor.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and suppliers on material quality issues when required.

2. In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)

• Conduct routine in-process inspections to ensure production complies with approved work instructions and quality standards.
• Monitor production processes and identify quality abnormalities or deviations.
• Ensure operators comply with quality procedures and inspection requirements.
• Verify process parameters and product conformity throughout the production process.

3. Outgoing Quality Control (OQC)

• Perform final inspection of finished goods prior to shipment.
• Ensure products comply with customer specifications, drawings, packaging, and labeling requirements.
• Approve product release only after meeting quality acceptance criteria.

4. Testing & Measurement

• Operate inspection and testing equipment including:
• Vernier Caliper
• Micrometer
• Height Gauge
• Pull Force Tester
• Continuity Tester
• Digital Measuring Equipment
• Ensure measuring equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
• Report any damaged or overdue calibration equipment.

5. Non-Conformance Management

• Identify, label, and segregate non-conforming products.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) when necessary.
• Assist QA Engineer in investigating quality issues.
• Support implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain inspection records, check sheets, and quality documentation.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and quality performance data.
• Ensure all quality documents are updated and properly filed.
• Support traceability requirements for production records.

7. Quality System Compliance

• Comply with company Quality Management System (QMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Work Instructions.
• Support implementation of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements.
• Participate in internal, customer, and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements.

8. Continuous Improvement

• Participate in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S activities.
• Support defect reduction and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist in root cause analysis using quality tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone Diagram.
• Promote quality awareness among production operators.

9. Health, Safety & Housekeeping

• Comply with company Safety & Health policies and procedures.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices (5S) within the inspection area.
• Report unsafe conditions or practices immediately.

10. Other Duties

• Perform any other duties assigned by the QA Engineer, QA Supervisor, or QA Manager.
• Support departmental improvement projects and cross-functional quality initiatives.

Job Types: Permanent, Contract, Fresh graduate

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,843.19 per month
