Job Responsibilities
Assist the Pastry Chef in creating and executing a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
Prepare and assemble ingredients for baking, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and tools required for pastry production.
Decorate pastries, desserts, and cakes using various techniques to enhance their visual appeal.
Collaborate with the Pastry Chef and other team members to develop new pastry recipes and menu items.
Ensure that all pastry items are presented and served in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
Maintain inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies, and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the Pastry Chef.
Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper storage, labelling, and handling of food items.
Maintain a clean and organized pastry station, including proper storage and rotation of ingredients, utensils, and equipment.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff members to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the overall culinary team.
Stay updated on industry trends and techniques in pastry making, and share knowledge with the team.
Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.
Prerequisite
Proven experience as a Pastry Demi Chef de Partie or similar role
In-depth knowledge of pastry production techniques, baking methods, and ingredients.
Proficiency in creating and decorating a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
