Join the opening team of Staple, an exciting new fast-casual bowl concept built around fresh, hearty and fully customizable workday meals.
We are seeking a skilled and driven Senior Supervisor – Kitchen supports the Outlet Manager – Kitchen in running daily kitchen operations.
This role is responsible for supervising the team on the floor, ensuring prep is completed, maintaining food quality, supporting ordering and stocktake duties, and keeping the kitchen organised during service.
This is a hands-on role suited for someone who can lead by example, guide junior team members, and maintain SOP discipline in a fast-paced QSR environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Kitchen Supervision
· Support the Outlet Manager in managing daily kitchen operations.
· Supervise Kitchen Crew during prep, service, assembly, packing, and closing.
· Ensure the team follows recipes, portioning guides, SOPs, and hygiene standards.
· Help manage service flow during peak periods.
2. Prep & Service Readiness
· Ensure daily prep is completed according to par levels.
· Check that proteins, grains, sauces, toppings, and packaging are ready before service.
· Monitor holding times, freshness, and product quality.
· Highlight shortages, over-prep, or quality issues to the Outlet Manager.
3. Ordering, Stock take & Inventory Support
· Share daily ordering and stocktake duties with the Outlet Manager – Kitchen.
· Assist with daily stock checks before ordering is placed.
· Prepare ordering requirements based on actual stock balance, prep needs, par levels, and expected sales.
· Highlight low stock, fast-moving items, slow-moving items, and potential shortages to the Outlet Manager.
· Support weekly stocktake together with the Outlet Manager.
· Check that received goods match order quantities and quality standards.
· Ensure items are properly labelled, stored, rotated, and used according to FIFO.
· Track wastage, spoilage, expired items, and over-prep.
· Help maintain accurate stock records and reduce unnecessary food cost leakage.
4. Food Quality & Portion Control
· Ensure all dishes are assembled correctly and consistently.
· Maintain proper portioning to control food cost.
· Check presentation, packaging, temperature, and accuracy before orders leave the kitchen.
· Correct mistakes immediately and coach the team where needed.
5. Team Support & Training
· Guide Kitchen Crew on daily tasks, SOPs, and station responsibilities.
· Help train new joiners on prep, assembly, cleaning, and safety procedures.
· Maintain team discipline during busy periods.
· Escalate performance or attitude issues to the Outlet Manager.
6. Cleanliness, Hygiene & Safety
· Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised, and safe throughout the day.
· Complete assigned cleaning, temperature, and hygiene checks.
· Ensure food is stored properly and expiry dates are monitored.
· Maintain proper equipment usage and cleanliness standards.
· Minimum 2–4 years of kitchen experience.
· Experience in QSR, fast casual, café, salad bowl, takeaway, or production kitchen preferred.
· Able to supervise a small team.
· Good understanding of prep, portioning, hygiene, stock control, and service flow.
· Able to assist with ordering and stock take.
· Hands-on, reliable, and calm during peak periods.
· Able to follow and enforce SOPs.
