Position Summary
The Senior Project & Program Manager (APAC) is responsible for overseeing, planning, and executing complex, high-impact projects across the Asia-Pacific region from initiation to completion. This role serves as a critical bridge between APAC regional operations and global platforms, ensuring the region's strategic priorities are well-represented and delivered on time.
The Senior Project Manager actively collaborates with various team members including XFNs like but not limited to TPMs, BBE, IBOS, SOE, DE & others across domains to drive projects to successful outcomes aligned with both regional and global objectives.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for the Senior Project & Program Manager (APAC) include:
- Regional Strategy & Alignment: Facilitate APAC roadmapping, align regional goals with global strategic initiatives, and advocate for APAC needs in global platforms.
- Cross-Domain Coordination: Partner with regional teams (Backbone, Edge, Data Center) to manage interdependencies, streamline workstreams, and optimize resource usage across domains.
- Technical Feasibility & Oversight: Collaborate with engineering teams to drive/ conduct technical reviews, ensuring project scope accounts for regulatory, site-specific, and engineering constraints.
- Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive charters, resource plans, and schedules while leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Delivery & Performance Tracking: Monitor milestones against actual execution, track workstream progress, and drive accountability for deliverable quality.
- Risk Mitigation & Problem-Solving: Identify project risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve escalations and conflicts using data-driven insights.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders through regular status updates, executive briefings, and effective change management.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct post-project reviews to extract best practices, mentor junior staff, and stay current with emerging industry trends and technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Project Leadership & Methodology: 5–8 years of experience managing complex, enterprise-level projects (Agile/Waterfall) within network infrastructure, telecommunications, or large-scale technology deployments.
- Technical & AI Proficiency: Strong command of project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira) and practical experience with LLM/agentic AI frameworks (e.g., Gemini, Manus) to automate workflows and system integration.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Proven ability to lead and influence geographically distributed, multi-disciplinary teams without direct authority, while managing competing budgets and deadlines.
- Regional Expertise: Deep understanding of APAC regulatory/compliance standards and the ability to operate across diverse cultures, time zones, and infrastructure domains (Backbone, Edge, Data Center).
- Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business, etc.) is required, with an MBA and PMP/CSM certification highly preferred.
- Availability & Location: Must be based in APAC (Singapore preferred) with the flexibility to travel up to 25% and accommodate global meeting schedules.
