Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilites:

  • Supervise day-to-day safety practices at the construction site and ensure compliance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation and project safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with approved Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Risk Assessments, Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, and site safety procedures.
  • Organize and conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and induction programmes for workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Ensure all personnel use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with established site safety rules.
  • Participate in Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) activities and monitor the effectiveness of implemented control measures.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses, prepare investigation reports, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update safety records, inspection reports, training records, permit registers, and statutory documentation.
  • Monitor high-risk activities such as lifting operations, excavation works, confined space entry, work at height, hot work, and temporary works to ensure compliance with approved procedures.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including emergency response drills, fire prevention measures, and first aid readiness.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and relevant authorities on matters relating to site safety.
  • Assist during internal audits, client inspections, and regulatory inspections, ensuring prompt closure of any findings.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through continuous communication, awareness campaigns, and behavioural safety initiatives.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports, including safety statistics, inspection findings, and progress on corrective actions.
  • Stop or report any unsafe work activities that pose an immediate risk to personnel, property, or the environment.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Safety & Health Officer to support project safety objectives.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging hazard reporting, behavioural safety practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Safety & Health Officer in support of project safety objectives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Competent Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) certified by DOSH/JKKP (Yellow Book holder).
  • Possess a valid CIDB Green Card.
  • Minimum three (1- 3) years of relevant experience in construction site safety supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willing to work on-site and travel to project locations as required.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
