Senior Technical Manager – Cutsheets
Location: Johor Bahru, Malaysia
Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Salary: RM 16,000-RM 22,000 Monthly
About the Role
An established digital infrastructure and data centre organisation is seeking an experienced Technical Manager – Cutsheets to oversee the governance, accuracy, and approval of all technical product documentation used across major infrastructure projects.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all product cutsheets, technical submittals, and specification documentation align with project design requirements, client standards, and industry regulations. Acting as the technical control point between Design, Procurement, and Project Delivery teams, the successful candidate will ensure that approved products are technically compliant, accurately documented, and suitable for deployment.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of structured cabling and data centre infrastructure, excellent document control capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Assurance & Compliance
• Review and validate cutsheets against project specifications, client requirements, and applicable industry standards.
• Verify that selected products meet technical performance, capacity, installation, and compliance requirements prior to approval.
• Provide technical sign-off for product selections where required.
• Ensure all documentation supports project design intent and contractual obligations.
Submittals & Documentation Management
• Own the preparation, quality, and submission of technical submittal packages.
• Ensure all cutsheets are accurate, complete, version controlled, and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage documentation in accordance with project schedules and client submission requirements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all cutsheet-related technical queries.
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Collaborate closely with Design and Engineering teams to validate technical requirements and design intent.
• Support Procurement teams by ensuring approved products align with purchasing requirements.
• Work alongside Project Delivery teams to resolve technical issues and support successful installation activities.
• Ensure consistency between approved cutsheets, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and installed solutions.
Standardisation & Process Improvement
• Develop and maintain standard cutsheet templates, document control procedures, and naming conventions.
• Drive consistency across documentation standards, filing structures, and project processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve technical documentation quality and document management workflows.
• Promote best practices across regional and global project teams.
Vendor & Product Management
• Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain current technical documentation and product specifications.
• Clarify technical information and resolve specification discrepancies with vendors.
• Support evaluation of alternative products and value engineering initiatives where appropriate.
• Maintain awareness of new products, technologies, and manufacturer updates.
Risk Management & Quality Control
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with incorrect product selection or non-compliant documentation.
• Support issue resolution where installed products differ from approved technical documentation.
• Ensure document quality supports project compliance, client approvals, and successful project delivery.
• Contribute to quality assurance processes and technical audits where required.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
• Support technical reviews with clients, consultants, and third-party stakeholders.
• Present technical documentation and product information during approval processes.
• Respond to client comments and coordinate revisions where necessary.
• Build effective working relationships across internal teams and external partners.

Experience with manufacturers such as:
• CommScope
• Panduit
• Leviton
• Corning

would be highly advantageous.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
• Proven experience in a technical, engineering, design, or documentation role within data centres, structured cabling, construction, or MEP environments.
• Experience reviewing technical documentation, product data sheets, cutsheets, Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and technical submittals.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, including copper, fibre optic, and data centre infrastructure components.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, product performance data, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong document control skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation and document management systems.
Desirable
• Experience supporting Hyperscale or Enterprise Data Centre projects.
• Previous experience managing or mentoring technical documentation or engineering teams.
• Knowledge of client-specific standards within financial services or hyperscale environments.
• Experience with structured cabling manufacturers and product selection processes.
• Understanding of construction submittal, approval, and handover processes.
• Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Familiarity with document control platforms such as Aconex, Procore, BIM 360, or equivalent systems.
• Knowledge of industry standards including ISO, TIA, BICSI, and related structured cabling standards.
Qualifications & Certifications
Preferred
• Degree in Engineering, Building Services, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline.
• BICSI Certification (RCDD or Technician certifications desirable).
• Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Standards.
• Relevant technical or project documentation certifications.
