Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical building services projects, with opportunities to work on data centre and mission-critical developments.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in mechanical building services design within an engineering consultancy, contractor, or project delivery environment.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Experience in data centre, mission-critical, commercial, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience using engineering design software and BIM platforms would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage project priorities and deliver work within agreed timelines.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and undertake mechanical engineering design for building services projects, including air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, and fire protection systems.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, and design drawings.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities with internal teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, method statements, and technical proposals.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project coordination meetings.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
• Review testing and commissioning documentation and participate in witnessing testing and commissioning activities where required.
• Support project delivery from feasibility and concept design through construction and project handover.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical excellence within the organisation.
