Role Description

This is an on-site, contract role for a Digital IT Project Manager specializing in the banking domain, based in Kuala Lumpur. The Digital IT Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end execution of digital IT projects. Daily tasks include project planning, progress tracking, communication with stakeholders, risk assessment, and ensuring the delivery of projects on time and within scope. The candidate will also work closely with cross-functional teams to address challenges and maintain alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications

Candidate must have at least 2 years’ experience in software delivery projects.

It would be advantageous for the candidate to have both experiences.

1. Cybersecurity in banking or financial industry in the areas of customer data protection, fraud prevention & understanding on national or related cybersecurity measures.
2. Payments & transfer in banking, financial industry or commerce in the areas of increasing customer experience thru digital payments / transfers transactions & seamless interoperability

. Degree in related computer science principles 

2. 6 years’ experience in IT project manager role in the context of software delivery with in-house 

development 

3. 2 year experience in technical or functional related role in banking systems by in-house team

4. 1 year experience in scrum master role

5. Good knowledge in scrum techniques & artefacts, i..e DoD, stories, backlog, etc

6. Able to resolve problems creatively 

7. Strong stakeholder management 

8. Proficient in using Jira & Confluence

9. Strong interpersonal & collaborative skills as well as highly effective communication skills

10. Organised, detail oriented & thorough

11. Strong desire to help improve processes & mentor others

Digital IT Project Management

1. Driving & managing digital IT projects as follow:

a. Scope to be captured, tracked, controlled & validated to ensure commitment as approved is 

being delivered

b. Timeline to be planned, tracked, controlled & alerted promptly

c. Budgeting are to be approved, drawdown, utilised & tracked promptly & accurately

d. IT resourcing are to be planned, mobilised & tracked to ensure accountability to respective 

role deliverables are met 

e. Identify deviation in project planning, monitoring, execution & closure to be raised clearly as 

risks or issues & resolved promptly

f. All risks & issues for the project is being captured, reported, tracked & resolved to ensure 

group tech commitment to excellence

g. Communicate, report & engage with stakeholders as a key representative of group tech to 

ensure clarity of project progress, deviations, risks & issues are addressed accordingly 

2. Ensuring compliance to bank’s policies & processes for project(s) managed

a. Adherence to IT spend approvals procedures 

b. Adherence to RFP/RFI/demand procedures 

c. Adherence to software delivery lifecycle via waterfall, agile & both

d. Adherence to project management best practices 

3. Manage vendors where the project requires external parties

a. Plan, monitor, track, report, pay & close required activities with the vendor

b. Ensuring vendor deliverables are validated & sync with payments

c. Ensuring tracking of costing & payments promptly

4. Understanding of technology in the areas 

a. Digital ecosystem on functional & technical domain knowledge to enable validation of work & 

problem solving 

b. Understanding of infrastructure is advantageous
