Job Summary:
The Technical Manager oversees and manages the technical aspects of mechanical engineering project, ensuring that design, engineering and construction processes align with industry standards, project specifications, regulatory requirements, timelines, and quality standards. This role involves technical leadership and will act as a bridge between the design, tender and project team, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving to drive efficiency and delivery quality in implementation of M&E project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor technical engineers, draftsmen and technical support staff.
- Lead the review and approval of technical drawings, design plans, and engineering specifications.
- Provide guidance to engineering team on method statement, best practices and engineering calculation.
- Conduct technical training and performance evaluation on engineers.
- Support value engineering processes to optimize design and reduce cost.
- Collaborate with architects, consultants, sub-contractors, and clients on design and technical implementation.
- Collaborate with project manager to plan technical work and manage timelines.
- Monitor construction progress and provide technical direction on-site as needed.
- Identify and resolve technical issues that could affect project delivery.
- Stay updated on new technologies and software optimization in M&E engineering and technical design.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (Ir.) registration with BEM.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in M&E construction/projects, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
- Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical and clean room related construction and engineering field is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, process utilities, fire protection, and mechanical systems integration.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, MS Project and other relevant tools.
- Ability to speak and read in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is an added advantage due to the needs to communicate with China counterparts.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
