Job Description

Responsibilities

Role Description The Purchasing Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Simpang Ampat. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities, including evaluating supplier quotations, preparing and issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and components. The Purchasing Engineer collaborates with engineering, production, and quality teams to understand technical specifications and translate them into clear purchasing requirements. Daily tasks include monitoring inventory levels, supporting purchase planning based on project and production schedules, and resolving supplier-related issues such as delays or non-conformance. The role also involves analyzing cost, quality, and delivery performance data to support continuous improvement in purchasing processes and overall supply chain efficiency.


Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate and write in Mandarin.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and experience in purchase management within a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to support purchase planning, including demand forecasting and scheduling to meet production and project timelines.
  • Hands-on experience preparing, reviewing, and tracking purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
  • Solid analytical skills to evaluate supplier performance, cost structures, and material requirements, and to recommend data-driven improvements.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with ERP or purchasing systems and standard office productivity tools.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills for working with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple purchasing activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is an advantage.


Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in engineering or project procurement.
  • Candidates with procurement experience in the following industries are preferred:
  • MEP Engineering
  • Data Centers
  • Industrial Facilities
  • HVAC Systems
  • Fire Protection Systems
  • Construction and Infrastructure Projects


Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with the local procurement and construction market in Malaysia.
  • Knowledge of CIDB, SIRIM, and Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements and compliance standards.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
