Panasonic Digital Asia Pacific (PDAP) is the IT solutions and professional services partner to 63 Panasonic Group companies across the Asia Pacific region, operating across seven core business lines.

As a key enabler of Panasonic’s transformation journey, we provide IT leadership, portfolio management, solutions delivery, and IT operations, supported by Centres of Excellence in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Within this ecosystem, Panasonic Digital Malaysia (PDMY) serves as a key country delivery centre, contributing to the execution of regional digital initiatives and enterprise solutions.

We deliver reliable and resilient IT services while working closely with Panasonic Operating Companies as a strategic digital partner, driving digital enablement, modernization, and long‑term business value creation across the region.

About the role:

IT Strategy Planning

• Develop and drive the IT strategy and roadmap in alignment with business priorities, including partnership with stakeholders to define and quantify business value.
• Provide leadership for the Service function and integrate strategic direction into the Service Program activities and goals
• Lead engagement with business stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business direction, priorities, and performance goals.
• Serve as the key IT advisor to leadership and business stakeholders.

IT Operations & Service Delivery

• Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service quality, and cost effectiveness
• Ensure agreed service levels are consistently achieved or exceeded.

Project Management

• Collaborate with APAC teams to deliver country-level projects effectively and in alignment with regional standards and priorities.
• Plan and coordinate business readiness activities to support successful implementation of regional projects.
• Demonstrate experience leading projects with a value of at least USD 2 million.

Resource Management

• Plan and staff resources required to support both operations and project delivery, including Regional roles which are provided out of Malaysia to APAC group companies
• Develop career plans for team members and strengthen organisational capability by growing critical expertise.
• Provide service leadership for regional support teams to ensure effective delivery.
• Recruit and manage resources required for projects and operations.
• Identify, develop, and deploy key talent effectively to meet operational and strategic priorities.

Financial Management

• Own the annual business and financial plan for service operations.
• Manage and control actual expenses to meet Business Plan figures
• Monitor forecasts and manage variances against the business plan.

Business Analysis / Transformation

• Experience in business partnering, people leadership, and business transformation is preferred.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience providing IT services to business users in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong business acumen, organisational capability, and customer focus.
• Excellent communication skills and cultural awareness, with the ability to operate effectively in a Japanese business environment.
• Proven people leadership experience, with a passion for building, developing, and sustaining high-performing teams.
• A self-starter who demonstrates initiative, ownership, accountability, and leadership.
• Professional communication skills in English and Mandarin.
• Resilient and results-driven, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work effectively in diverse environments, adapt quickly, and collaborate across teams and functions.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration with relevant IT management or leadership experience, or a degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.

Travel Requirements:

• Frequent travel within Malaysia to visit group companies.
• Overseas travel is expected approximately five times per year.
