Our client, a global leader in the automotive industry, is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead its aftersales workshop operations. This role is suited for a hands-on leader from the commercial vehicle, heavy truck, bus, heavy equipment, fleet maintenance or automotive aftersales industry. You will oversee workshop operations, lead a technical team, and drive both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily workshop operations, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality service delivery.
- Plan and allocate resources to optimize productivity, turnaround time and technician utilization.
- Monitor workshop KPIs including efficiency, labour recovery, productivity and profitability.
- Ensure strong customer service, handling escalations and maintaining key client relationships.
- Drive continuous improvement in workshop processes, quality and cost control.
- Coordinate with Parts team to ensure timely availability of spare parts and minimal downtime.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of technicians and service personnel.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in workshop or aftersales management.
- Background in commercial vehicles, heavy trucks, buses or heavy equipment preferred.
- Strong understanding of workshop operations, KPIs and service processes.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong customer focus with problem-solving ability.
- Heavy vehicle license is an added advantage.
