Cloud Data Platform Engineer

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Employment Type: 1-Year Renewable Contract

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Cloud Data Platform Engineer to join our global Data Ecosystem team. You will play a key role in evolving, developing, and maintaining a modern cloud-based data platform that supports the collection, processing, and consumption of data across the organization.

The platform enables data-driven decision making by providing reliable and scalable data infrastructure for analysts, data scientists, and machine learning teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously improve, monitor, maintain, and extend Data Ecosystem infrastructure components, including cloud storage, file event queues, databases, and related services.
• Ensure the platform is secure, stable, scalable, and cost-effective.
• Collaborate with architects to define standards, guidelines, and best practices for the Data Ecosystem.
• Troubleshoot platform issues, incidents, and support tickets raised by data engineering teams.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines for provisioning and managing platform services.
• Monitor cloud resources and implement automation to improve operational efficiency.
• Support both batch and streaming data processing patterns.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Data Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Strong experience with:
• Kubernetes and Docker
• Relational databases, data modelling, and performance tuning
• Private networking and cloud security
• ETL/ELT and Data Engineering practices
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps tools:
• Terraform
• Azure DevOps
• GitHub / GitHub Actions
• CI/CD pipelines
• Strong scripting skills in:
• Python
• Bash
• PowerShell
• Azure CLI
• Experience deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and securing cloud resources.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Data Lake platforms and cloud storage solutions.
• Exposure to streaming technologies and event-driven architectures.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Knowledge of data analytics and machine learning ecosystems.

Pay: RM3,929.46 - RM15,000.00 per month
