To provide support to teachers in delivering the PYP curriculum, fostering inquiry-based learning, and promoting conceptual understanding. To model the IB Learner Profile and support the development of ATL skills while adhering to Malvern College's Mission, Vision and Values.
MCHK is very supportive of the professional development of Teaching Partners through undertaking a PGDE or iPGCE. We are committed to supporting teaching practicums with the support and time of a mentor in lesson planning and delivery.
The Role
To provide support to teachers and other staff as required during the school year. This vacancy starts in August 2026.
Responsibilities
Learning and Teaching:
Support teachers in implementing inquiry-based learning and UOI planning;
Assist in preparing inquiry provocations and resources that promote conceptual thinking;
Support the development of ATL skills (thinking, communication, social, self-management, research);
Model and promote the IB Learner Profile attributes in all interactions;
Prepare teaching/learning/curriculum materials – photocopy, laminate, translate, create spreadsheets, input/collate data related to pupils, grades, and resources;
Assist in preparing differentiated materials and scaffolding for diverse learners;
Support student-initiated inquiries and encourage student voice in learning;
Assist in facilitating student reflection on learning processes; and
Support teachers in communicating Learning Intentions and Success Criteria to students.
Team and Section Support:
Cover classes where necessary and appropriate;
Assist in staff duties during morning break, lunchtime, and after school – especially when staff members are in meetings/supervising CCAs; and
Accompany teachers and pupils on field trips to provide supervision.
School Activities Support:
A Teaching Partner should be able and willing to support a wide range of educational activities, including but not limited to:
Support for the school's co-curricular activities (CCA) programme. All members of staff are expected to support a minimum of one CCA per week;
Accompany pupils during sports competitions with the CCA coordinator;
Assist in the running of Sports Day activities;
Assist in the preparation and running of Open Day activities; and
Assist in translating for parents and teachers during parent consultation evenings, coffee mornings and other information sessions.
Office Support:
Assist with the beginning and end of term office activities such as moving files, designing notice boards;
Report printing and distribution;
Timetable and invigilation schedule preparation;
Examination paper photocopying, distribution and collection; and
Collection of textbooks and resources.
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Education is an advantage;
Fluent English;
Relevant experience in primary or secondary education is preferred;
Experience working in an international school setting is preferred;
Attention to detail, patient and helpful;
Collaborative and prepared to work as part of a team;
Sound organisational and time management skills;
Basic level of IT skills;
Professionalism;
Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age, and ethnic background;
Strong work ethic;
Effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills;
Commitment to high standards in teaching and learning; and
