AP Rentals Limited Hiring! Full Time Electrical - Electronic Engineer in Hong Kong - Ricebowl

The Electrical and Electronic Engineer is responsible for the hardware and firmware development of embedded systems for the Group's smart and new generation of construction and engineering equipment providing professional services for our customers with the application of advanced technologies. This role covers the full product development lifecycle – from Electrical & Electronic design and development, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) development, to firmware development and system integration testing – delivering safe, stable, reliable, and efficient intelligent control solutions for the Group's construction and engineering equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Embedded Hardware Development

• Design embedded system hardware architecture, including requirements analysis, circuit schematic design, PCB development, electrical wiring development

• Select and evaluate suitable components and devices to ensure that hardware meets functional and reliability requirements

• Design hardware circuits based on various microcontroller and microprocessor platforms.

• Design and debug analog circuits, digital circuits, switching circuits, power circuits, and high-speed signal circuits

• Prepare hardware design documentation, including design specifications, schematic and drawings test and evaluation plans, and technical manuals

Embedded Software Development

• Design embedded system software architecture based on ARM platforms or Real-Time Operating System (RTOS)

• Develop device drivers (ADC, DAC, SPI/I2C/UART, Ethernet, etc.)

• Develop power communication protocol interfaces including Modbus-TCP/RTU, IEC 60870-*************, etc.

• Implement full-cycle embedded software development

• Program microcontrollers and firmware using C/C++ and other programming approaches

System Integration & Testing

• Conduct hardware-software integration testing to resolve compatibility issues

• Perform hardware functional testing, failure analysis, and solution development

• Design, develop, assemble and evaluated prototypes and systems for proof-of-concept testing

• Conduct software robustness testing under EMC conditions

• Participate in product validation, documentation, and continuous improvement

Technical Support & Product Maintenance

• Provide technical support and troubleshoot technical issues

• Prepare technical documentation throughout the product development cycle

• Track technology trends and research new embedded hardware technologies and tools

• Provide technical training and support to field service teams

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or related disciplines

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in embedded systems hardware or firmware development is preferred

• Experience with power systems, industrial sensors, or IoT devices is preferred

• Experience with generator control systems or smart power equipment is preferred

• Experience with buildup server, to interface with services (SMS, Map), bidirectional wireless data transfer with MQTT, User & backend operator web and webapp design is an advantage

• DevOps interface and integration experiences with Servers, Services & Gateways (SMS, Map, License Plate Recognition) is an advantage

• Protocols RS485, CAN, I2C, SPI, CCS2, GB, OCPP, MQTT Firmware development experiences with C/C++, Python for modules, systems communication is required

• Hands-on Front-end, Back-end of Web and Mobile App is a plus

• Hands-on ESS and power converter controls, UART/RS485, CAN, SPI, I2C. EV charging protocols (GB, CCS2, OCPP) is a plus

• Assembly / Installation experience to Utility power and HV DC (< 1000V DC EV Charger) is an advantage

• Good team player, good communication and problem solving skills

• Self-motivated, mature, hardworking

• Good command of spoken and written Cantonese, English, and Putonghua
