Job Description: Senior Sourcing Specialist
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Sourcing Specialist to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and drive commercial value across key categories. This role is responsible for developing and executing long-term agreements (LTAs), ensuring cost optimization, supply continuity, and robust supplier partnerships.
The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, operations, and project stakeholders—to align sourcing strategies with business objectives while maintaining compliance with procurement policies and contractual standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies across assigned categories.
- Drive the establishment of long-term agreements (LTAs) and framework contracts with strategic suppliers.
- Manage the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle, including RFQs, bid evaluations, and supplier selection.
- Execute Purchase Orders (POs) in line with negotiated terms, project requirements, and procurement policies.
- Negotiate complex commercial terms, pricing structures, and contractual conditions.
- Identify and develop strategic supplier partnerships to enhance value, performance, and innovation.
- Analyze spend data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and supplier consolidation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal standards, and governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align technical and commercial requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proactively manage supply risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Essential Requirements
Experience & Background
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement.
- Proven experience in Oil & Gas industry (field and workshop exposure preferred).
- Background in OEMs, EPC contractors, oilfield services, or multinational industrial organizations is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in contract negotiation and commercial management
- Experience in LTA (Long-Term Agreement) development
- Strong skills in cost analysis and procurement strategy
- Supplier evaluation and performance management
- Knowledge of procurement processes and contractual governance
Tools & Systems
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience with SAP, Ariba, or equivalent sourcing/procurement tools
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
- Professional certifications such as CIPS / ISM are an added advantage
- Valid driving license preferred
