Job Description

Responsibilities

Role Purpose:

  • Assist the Deputy General Manager in developing, implement and achieve sales business plan to attract client to Desaru Coast.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic marketing and events partnerships across Desaru Coast including active participation in relevant stakeholder meetings and event sponsorship/activation forum.
  • Sourcing and securing destination events in line with Desaru Coast’s commercial direction.
  • To promote the positive image of the destination and ensure the guests are provided with excellence customer service.
  • Responsible for driving sales growth and business development initiatives within the Singapore market, including travel to Singapore as required to support business objectives

Job Descriptions:

  • Support the Deputy General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Sales Department.
  • Analyze, plan, and execute sales strategies based on targets set, maximizing sales efforts to achieve in line with overall commercial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with established systems and controls for all sales activities and efforts, including planning, reporting, and task execution.
  • Develop plans and coordinate large scale and high-profile events, generating net revenues agreed upon with clients.
  • Work with stakeholders and external clients to schedule all event needs into the appropriate facilities based on date and type program, projected number of attendees, dining service needs and other requirements such as meeting and group spaces.
  • Participates in marketing and sales activities highlighting Desaru Coast as a potential venue.
  • Work closely with the top management to develop and implement policies and procedures related revenue production for the destination.
  • Coordinates all aspects of events and serves as main point of contact for clients.
  • Communicates and resolves problems effectively and in a timely manner with event organizers.
  • Fosters and maintains contacts with a wide array of vendors to ensure consistent delivery of needed goods and services for conference and event programs.
  • Obtain detailed information from client on event type and event requirements to ensure success of event.
  • Works closely with the facilities staff to ensure appearance and cleanliness of the space is appropriate to the client.
  • Ensures that all events comply with all government regulations and company’s policies and procedures.
  • Able to strategize and plan the type of events that meet with the agreed sales direction and plan.
  • Delivering events within budget set, that meet overall client and management experience and expectations i.e. footfall, revenue.
  • Coverage on external events on evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • To execute any other job requirements as assigned by the Superior.

Requirements

  • Requirements:
  • Degree in Business Administration / Sales and related field.
  • Certified training in Negotiation skills or any sales & marketing related training.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in the similar capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  • Able to multi-task and adaptable to a fast-paced work environment.
  • Has sense of urgency, organised and attention to details
  • Candidates with experience in the Singapore market, particularly in sales and a strong understanding of Singapore buyer preferences and market dynamics, will be highly preferred.
