Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the stewarding team to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are consistently maintained across all kitchen and back-of-house areas.
  • Plan and organize stewarding schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak operations, functions, and events.
  • Oversee the proper use, cleaning, and storage of kitchen equipment, utensils, and operating supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning materials, chemicals, and stewarding tools; coordinate timely requisitions to avoid shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and occupational health regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and stewarding areas to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Train, coach, and mentor stewarding staff to uphold service standards and operational efficiency.
  • Support the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team in maintaining smooth kitchen operations.
  • Implement waste management and recycling initiatives to support sustainability goals.
  • Handle staff grievances and disciplinary matters within the stewarding department in line with company policies.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support banquets, functions, and special events.
  • Prepare stewarding reports and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and cost control.
  • Report directly to the Executive Chef, ensuring alignment with kitchen operations and standards.

Key requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive staff matters with fairness and discretion.
  • Prior experience in stewarding or kitchen operations within Hospitality / Food & Beverage is an added advantage.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
