The Lead Data & Analytics is responsible for advancing the Group’s data and analytics capabilities by developing data strategies, delivering analytics solutions, and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. The role combines technical expertise with business insight to design scalable data solutions, strengthen data governance and quality, leverage emerging technologies, and build organizational capability in analytics and data literacy.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESPartner with business stakeholders across the Group to identify, prioritize, and deliver data and analytics initiatives that enhance operational performance, support strategic decision-making, and drive business value.Strategic Data & Analytics Leadership
- Define and implement enterprise-wide technical data strategies that support business growth, operational efficiency, and digital transformation.
- Establish and enforce standards for data governance, quality, and lifecycle management.
- Design frameworks that ensure data is accessible, searchable, and usable across all functions.
Analytics Solution Ownership
- Identify high-value business problems and translate them into actionable analytics use cases.
- Architect and manage the delivery of analytics solutions, from concept to deployment, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Evaluate, select, and implement advanced tools, platforms, and methodologies to support predictive analytics, automation, and performance optimization.
Technical Execution and Innovation
- Lead discovery process to uncover business pain points and opportunities for data-driven improvements.
- Facilitate alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure clarity, relevance, and impact of analytics initiatives.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of analytics infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Explore and apply emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and real-time analytics to enhance business capabilities.
Capability Building & Mentorship
- Mentor data professionals and analysts to elevate technical and strategic competencies.
- Lead training programs and workshops to improve data literacy and analytical thinking across the organization, especially to leaders in Hibiscus.
- Champion a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement in data & analytics practices.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from a recognized institution.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in data or analytics role, within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions that improved operational efficiency, reduced costs, or enhanced decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions and communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in delivering structured training in data literacy or analytics tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Comfortable working in both structured and agile environments, adapting to evolving business needs.
- Deep understanding of data quality, metadata, governance and compliance framework in oil and gas industry.
- Strong background in data manipulation, data visualization, machine learning, statistical modelling, and artificial intelligence.
- Advanced proficiency in Python programming for data analysis, modelling, and automation.
- Proficiency in querying and manipulating relational and non-relational databases.
- Proficiency in building ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Deploying models or analytics solutions into production environments i.e. cloud or on-prem.
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure is a plus.
