We are a fast-growing, lean SME startup company looking for a battle-tested DevOps / SysOps Engineer to take complete end-to-end ownership of our multi-environment production infrastructure. We are seeking a technical gatekeeper, not just someone who works within expensive cloud suites, but someone who excels at building resilient, secure, and cost-effective systems.

This role is designed for a terminal-level troubleshooter who functions calmly during critical production incidents. If your first instinct under pressure is to hunt down root causes via the command line, write clear runbooks, and design resourceful automation frameworks from scratch, you belong on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure & Fleet Management: Own, maintain, and scale our multi-region production fleets (Linux/Ubuntu/CentOS instances, containerized microservices, and multi-cloud architectures).
• Observability & Logging: Design, deploy, and manage our central monitoring and log aggregation frameworks using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or the ELK stack. Set up smart, real-time alert routing loops (via Slack, Telegram, or webhooks).
• FinOps & Cost Optimization: Proactively audit, reconcile, and reduce infrastructure spend through smart architecture choices (e.g., private network peering, instance right-sizing, and resource life-cycles) without sacrificing performance or SLAs.
• Security Hardening & Defense: Implement robust system hardening, manage strict firewall postures, and actively configure reverse proxies/API gateways (NGINX, Cloudflare WAF) to mitigate live brute-force and DDoS threats.
• Automation Engineering: Eliminate manual, repetitive tasks by building and maintaining end-to-end automated configuration pipelines using Ansible, Jenkins, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) driven by Python or Bash.
• High Availability & DR: Plan and execute critical infrastructure updates, zero-downtime database upgrades, and regular cross-region Disaster Recovery (DR) or failover drills to ensure data consistency and continuous availability.

Job Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 2-3+ years of pure, hands-on commercial experience running live Linux infrastructure, server administration, and production deployment pipelines.
• The Core Stack: Proficient in Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS), Docker/Docker-Compose, Ansible, Terraform, and Git-driven CI/CD.
• Deep Observability: Proven track record setting up metric-gathering and log aggregation infrastructures via Prometheus and Grafana from scratch.
• The Scripting Drill: Strong programming/scripting capability in Python or Bash/Shell to solve automation problems from scratch.
• Startup Mindset: Highly autonomous, disciplined, and comfortable in a flat, fast-paced startup team where you take absolute accountability for system stability.
• Language Proficiency: Strong communication skills in English. Ability to speak/write in Mandarin is a strong advantage to effectively collaborate with team dynamics and cross-border partners.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
