Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Support and lead financial operations for construction projects, ensuring compliance, accurate reporting, and effective cost control to drive informed decision-making and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports including monthly/quarterly variance analysis, cash flow projections, and annual budgets
  • Provide financial information and analysis to support organizational decision-making
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with group accounting policies
  • Manage month-end and year-end closings ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls
  • Monitor and manage financial aspects of construction projects including job costing, budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, and work-in-progress reporting
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets and cost control measures to keep projects within financial guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations including preparation and submission of GST and statutory filings
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team by providing training, guidance, and performance support
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance finance operation efficiency
  • Prepare and analyze management reports for the group and its entities
  • Manage daily banking operations to ensure smooth financial transactions
  • Liaise with bankers on financing, treasury, and risk management matters
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses for management
  • Collaborate with departments to gather and analyze data for project costs, revenue, and balance sheet accounts
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices, vendor reconciliations, and payments
  • Provide financial and operational support to the finance team and subsidiaries
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and other stakeholders as required
  • Execute special projects and management requests as assigned

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
  • Experience handling full set of accounts
  • Experience in construction/real estate industry (at least 3 years)
  • Familiarity with Accpac Accounting software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, able to multitask
  • Meticulous with numbers, independent, organized, team player with initiative and resourcefulness
  • Positive working attitude and ability to collaborate effectively in a team
