Position Overview:
The IT Manager position leads all IT systems, data, security, hardware and software across the automotive business. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and leadership skills to drive the technology strategy, systems integration/reporting and ensure operations run smoothly. This role ensures that systems, data and enterprise platforms are technically aligned, data-driven, and scalable across product lines and business units.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Systems & Data
- Optimise existing end-to-end systems and enterprise data platforms.
- Define data architecture principles, models, and standards governing data flow
- Design and manage interface control between systems to provide support to the business and retail partners
- Ensure hardware and software support the business needs locally and in HQ
- Manage office IT requirements
2. Integration & Governance
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure compliance and manage system interfaces, data ownership, and version control across platforms.
- Maintain traceability from technical design through data lifecycle management (collection, storage, processing, usage, and retention).
- Manage cybersecurity risk, data security and functional safety, and ensure regulatory standards are met.
3. Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with all departments to ensure cohesive system design and data flow.
- Act as the primary IT resource between functions.
- Lead cross-functional workshops and design reviews to resolve technical conflicts and align strategic goals.
- Manage a small team of systems specialists.
4. Strategy & Innovation
- Support the business by optimizing data and reporting
- Identify opportunities to leverage vehicle and customer data for business insights, predictive maintenance, and customer experience improvements.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies.
- Map the digital eco-system and contribute to enterprise architecture blueprints, ensuring vehicle data aligns with broader IT ecosystems (ERP, CRM etc.).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Engineering; Computer Science; or a related discipline.
- Preferred 8+ years of experience in OEM automotive systems architecture and/or data architecture.
- Experience implementing data governance, and API-driven integrations between embedded and enterprise systems.
- Understanding of functional safety, cybersecurity and data privacy regulations.
- Bilingual in English & Mandarin to liaise with stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds.
