Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Software Engineer role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that support HEYDOC Health’s clinical, pharmacy, analytics, and health technology platforms. Daily responsibilities include implementing new features, fixing bugs, writing clean and secure code, and collaborating with product managers, designers, data analysts, and clinical teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. The role also involves participating in code reviews, improving system performance, integrating third-party services and APIs, and contributing to technical documentation and best practices. The Software Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure software reliability, usability, and compliance with healthcare standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong programming skills in languages commonly used for web or backend development (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar), with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Experience with software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of web technologies and frameworks (e.g., RESTful APIs, HTML/CSS, modern JavaScript frameworks, or backend frameworks) for building scalable applications.
  • Familiarity with databases and data management (e.g., SQL/NoSQL databases, data modeling, and performance optimization).
  • Understanding of software testing practices (e.g., unit testing, integration testing, automated testing) and debugging techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and document solutions and processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in healthcare, health tech, or data-intensive systems, and familiarity with data security and privacy best practices, is an advantage.
