Description
The Academic Counsellor will provide guidance and support to students in their academic journeys, helping them to navigate course selections, understand academic policies, and develop strategies for success.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic guidance and support to students in selecting courses and planning their educational paths.
- Assist students in understanding academic policies and procedures.
- Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions to address students academic concerns.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student success and retention rates.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress.
- Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to improve academic programs and student services.
- Organize workshops and seminars on academic skills, career planning, and personal development.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- 1-6 years of experience in academic counseling or a related role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to empathize with students and provide tailored support.
- Knowledge of academic programs, educational resources, and career options.
- Proficiency in using counseling software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
