What you do
- Analyze current IT processes and workflows to identify areas for automation and improvement
- Design, develop, and implement automation scripts and tools using languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Javascript/node.js or others as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to integrate automation solutions into existing systems and workflows
- Monitor and maintain automated processes, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently
- Maintain security and compliance standards for the environment under management
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation tools and scripts
- Document automation processes, workflows, and best practices for future reference
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to IT automation
- Provide training and support to team members on automation tools and practices
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance IT service delivery

Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as an IT Automation Engineer or similar role
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and processes
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins)
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Familiarity with cloud and virtualization platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware, KVM) and their automation services
- Experience with web development and ability to write and integrate APIs
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Relevant certifications will be an added advantage
