Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Center Construction Engineer specializing in Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) works. This role is responsible for supporting the Construction Manager in the on-site execution of hyperscale data center projects, focusing on technical verification, quality enforcement, and site coordination to ensure activities are completed safely and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Technical Support

• Site Supervision:​ Assist the Construction Manager in overseeing day-to-day CSA site operations, including structural concrete, façade, roofing, and interior/exterior finishes.
• Subcontractor Coordination:​ Liaise with main contractors and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with the project schedule and technical requirements.
• Safety Compliance:​ Enforce strict adherence to EHS regulations on-site and participate in safety walkdowns and incident investigations.
• Interface Support:​ Coordinate with MEP and mission-critical teams to ensure smooth integration of CSA elements (e.g., foundation readiness, cut-out accuracy, vibration isolation).

2. Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC)

• Field Inspections:​ Conduct daily site walks to inspect workmanship and verify material compliance against design drawings and specifications.
• Mock-up Verification:​ Support the review and inspection of First-of-Kind (FOK) mock-ups (façade, waterproofing) prior to mass installation.
• Defect Tracking:​ Identify and document defects during site inspections, track the punch list, and verify the timely closure of issues.

3. Planning & Reporting

• Schedule Monitoring:​ Assist in monitoring the CSA construction schedule and updating progress data in Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Progress Reporting:​ Prepare weekly progress reports and visual documentation (photos/videos) of site status.
• Risk Identification:​ Proactively identify potential construction risks (e.g., weather impact, material delays) and escalate to the Manager.

4. Technical & Documentation

• Technical Clarification:​ Provide on-site technical support for structural steel, concrete, and waterproofing issues; assist in resolving RFIs (Request for Information).
• Permitting Support:​ Assist in liaising with local authorities and consultants for compliance documentation and inspections.
• Document Control:​ Maintain organized site records, including daily reports, inspection checklists, and as-built documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:​ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture.
• Experience:
  • 5–8 years​ of experience in construction site supervision.
  • Prior experience in data center or mission-critical facility construction​ is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with EPC project​ environments.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of CSA scopes (Façade, Waterproofing, Finishes, Structural works).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD​ and Revit/BIM.
  • Experience with project management tools (Primavera P6​ or MS Project) is a plus.
• Local Knowledge:​ Understanding of Malaysian construction markets, local supply chains, and building codes (e.g., CIDB, UBBL).
• Attributes:​ Proactive, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
