What You'll Do

• Administer, manage, and optimise Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL databases across both Windows and Linux environments to ensure peak performance and reliability
• Plan and execute database installations, configurations, migrations, upgrades, and patch management across on-premise and cloud platforms
• Lead and drive cloud migration initiatives — evaluating, planning, and executing seamless database transitions to Oracle Cloud, AWS, and Azure
• Design, deploy, and troubleshoot High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions including RAC, AlwaysOn, Streaming Replication, and related technologies
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies, including integration with third-party backup utilities
• Proactively monitor database health, performance, and capacity, identifying and resolving issues before they impact operations
• Diagnose and resolve complex database incidents swiftly to minimise downtime and ensure business continuity
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to support database-related projects and initiatives
• Establish and enforce database standards, best practices, and governance policies across the organisation
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering configurations, procedures, and operational runbooks

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline
• Strong and proven expertise in Oracle (19c and above), PostgreSQL, and MSSQL database administration
• Hands-on experience managing databases in both on-premise and cloud environments
• Demonstrated experience in cloud database migration to platforms such as Oracle Cloud, AWS, and Azure
• Deep knowledge of HA/DR architectures including RAC, AlwaysOn, Streaming Replication, and related solutions
• Solid experience in backup and recovery management, including third-party utility integration
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to resolve critical database issues under pressure
• Proficient in database administration across both Windows and Linux operating systems
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, enterprise environment
