Birgma Asia is a multinational group engaged in the procurement of various products in Asia for export to Scandinavian countries to our group company - Biltema. Our product lines include but not limit to car parts & accessories, bicycles, boating equipment, hand tools, household DIY and construction materials, electronic products and leisure items. Our Asian regional procurement operations currently include several offices in Asia.
Birgma is focused on procurement, logistics and the global manufacturing industry, while Biltema is focused on the retail. Stores with low cost/price leadership profile. Biltema stores conduct retail operations to private consumers but also to professionals.

To cope with our business expansion, we are hiring the position of Quality Engineer .
Job Purpose:
We are looking for a technically astute and energetic Quality Engineer to join us and participate in different projects, working closely with our cross-functional teams in Hong Kong and various regions. You will perform data-driven analysis of a product’s technical, performance, and packaging requirements against certification and testing requirements; and ensure depth of analysis and ability to act on generated insights during the early stages of product development.
Key Accountabilities:
QA and Standards Compliance
Stay on-top to the EU regulation / legislation update
Ensure products meet the required quality, legal, and safety requirements, fit their intended purpose, and meet customer expectations
Handle customer complaints, investigate the root causes and provide preventive measures
Product Validation
Set-up, review and optimize product specifications in conjunction with the business plan and development
Support and facilitate Global Sourcing team in evaluating BILTEMA products against BOM and product specifications, packaging materials, and certification and testing requirements during item review
Execute and monitor verification of incoming product samples to confirm quality conformance to specifications, technical and performance deliverables
Verifying components and materials specifications against BOM and product specifications down to the component level
Requirements:
University / College degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering is preferred
3 to 5 years working experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, testing or product development, in sourcing office / laboratory environment
Good knowledge of product development and verification process, supplier development, defect analysis
Good knowledge of EU legislation / requirements in General Merchandise / Bike / Toys / Car Tools and Accessories
Experience with product risk assessment and fit for use testing is preferred
Competent in problem-solving and root cause analysis (8D)
Travel to factories as required
Fluent in written and spoken English & Mandarin, excellent communication skills and good commercial awareness
Platform front end and back-end knowledge, including database management
Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Quality Engineer
