Responsibilities

What The Role Is

You are a key member of the Operations Budget Section, responsible for overseeing the operations budget at the Army level. You work collaborate with sub-budget controllers to consolidate inputs and ensure the timely submission of accurate financial reports. You also take the lead in formulating and implementing expenditure policies that drive fiscal discipline and promote prudent spending.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Manage the operations budget at the Army level, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and leveraging data analytics for informed decision-making
  • Collaborate with budget controllers to consolidate budget inputs, ensuring timely and accurate reporting supported by real-time insights from Power BI dashboards
  • Support the preparation and review of the multi-year budget plan, annual budget plan, and quarterly budget reviews, using Power BI to track performance trends and identify variances
  • Formulate and implement financial management policies to strengthen governance and promote prudent spending, informed by data-driven evidence from Power BI
  • Monitor budget utilisation across units and recommend corrective actions when necessary, using Power BI to visualise spending patterns and forecast potential risks

    Challenge(s)
  • Working closely and continuously with Finance Officers and stakeholders across units and departments to ensure compliance with regulations while understanding ground-level requirements, enabling accurate and fair assessments
  • Maintaining the Power BI dashboard to ensure data remains current and relevant, and providing timely and insightful analysis to support leadership decision-making

What We Are Looking For

  • Education in a Finance-related discipline such as Accounting, Business, or Economics
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a finance-related role in a large organisation is preferred
  • Strong data analytics capabilities, ideally with proficiency in Power BI
  • Meticulous, self-motivated, and a good team player with a high degree of integrity and security consciousness
