Role Purpose

The Pricing Executive is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of the pricing strategy for a leading lifestyle electronics brand in Malaysia. The role ensures pricing accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability across all sales channels while maintaining alignment with business objectives and brand positioning.


Key Responsibilities

1. Pricing Management & Governance

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of pricing strategies across retail, e-commerce, marketplace, and B2B channels.
  • Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of product pricing, promotional pricing, and discount structures across all sales channels.
  • Monitor compliance with approved pricing policies and guidelines.
  • Coordinate price updates and communicate changes to relevant internal and external stakeholders.


2. Pricing Analysis & Commercial Support

  • Conduct pricing analysis to evaluate profitability, competitiveness, and overall business performance.
  • Analyze sales performance, margin trends, and promotional effectiveness to support pricing recommendations.
  • Assist in evaluating pricing strategies for new products and product launches.
  • Support commercial teams by providing pricing insights and recommendations to drive business opportunities.


3. Market & Competitor Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor pricing, promotional activities, and market trends across online and offline channels.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies and provide regular market intelligence reports.
  • Identify pricing risks, opportunities, and potential impacts on business performance.
  • Track industry trends and consumer behavior to support informed pricing decisions.


4. Promotional & Campaign Support

  • Support the pricing review and approval process for promotional campaigns, seasonal offers, and retail activations.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of proposed promotions and discount programs.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Commercial teams to ensure promotional pricing aligns with profitability objectives.
  • Monitor promotional performance and provide post-campaign analysis.


5. Reporting & Data Management

  • Prepare regular pricing reports, margin analyses, and business performance dashboards.
  • Maintain pricing databases, product master data, and pricing records accurately.
  • Support forecasting and financial planning processes with pricing-related data and analysis.
  • Ensure pricing documentation and approvals are properly maintained and auditable.


6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Finance, Commercial, Retail, E-commerce, Supply Chain, and Regional teams to support pricing initiatives.
  • Assist in resolving pricing discrepancies and operational issues.
  • Support process improvements and automation initiatives related to pricing management and reporting.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in pricing, commercial analysis, business analytics, finance, sales operations, or related functions.
  • Experience within lifestyle electronics, premium consumer brands, retail, luxury, or lifestyle industries is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions.
