Job Summary
The QC Technician is responsible for ensuring strict adherence to quality assurance and quality control procedures within the Welding Division. This role spans specialized equipment certifications, commissioning oversight, tool calibration traceability, non-conformance (NC) management, and material inspections. The QC Technician acts as a vital quality link between the Design Division, external suppliers, and manufacturers. Role and Responsibilities
1. Certification, Commissioning & Quality Control
- Lead all chapters and documentation regarding specific equipment certifications (e.g., pressure vessels, hydraulic hoses, etc.) in compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Lead and ensure all refurbished equipment is operationally fit for purpose and fully functional through a structured commissioning process; author complete commissioning reports.
- Ensure comprehensive quality control inspections of all brand-new parts, consumables, and incoming equipment as per established procedures.
- Maintain absolute traceability of all controlling tools (QC Tools) and calibration records.
2. Non-Conformance (NC) Management & Audits
- Lead and manage all Non-Conformance (NC) reports and actions within the Welding Division's scope of applicability.
- Actively participate in external supplier and manufacturer audits to ensure compliance with OAG standards.
- Close operational or technical communication gaps between the Design Division and feedback received from suppliers or manufacturers
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Degree/Diploma, e.g., Technical Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Quality Management
- 2 years minimum of experience in quality control inspection, commissioning protocols, and pressure equipment certification within an industrial oil and gas.
Key Competencies
- Deep knowledge of local regulatory compliance for pressure vessels and mechanical equipment.
- Proven experience in technical commissioning processes and reporting.
- Proficient in managing Non-Conformance (NC) tracking, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Strong tracking capabilities for tool calibration and material traceability.
- Strong communication skills to bridge technical updates between design teams and suppliers
- Experience in handling industrial engineering parts, welding consumables, and crating/logistics workflows.
- Strong tracking and record-keeping capabilities for reporting and financial auditing.

HSE Commitment: Actively participate in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) enforcement within the workshop as per OAG Group targets.
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
