Nokia Hiring! Full Time Test Engineer — Embedded Software Testing (Telecom - Fiber Access) in Federal Territory, Earn up to MYR 11,000 - Ricebowl

Nokia's Fixed Networks Fiber Access R&D team is looking for a Test Engineer to join our embedded software testing function for telecom broadband access products. You'll own the full test lifecycle — from test design through defect verification and release validation — for software running inside OLT (Optical Line Terminal) equipment that powers fiber broadband for millions of subscribers worldwide.

No prior telecom or networking experience required. We're looking for strong embedded software testing fundamentals — C/C++, Python/scripting, and structured test methodology. Domain knowledge (PON, OLT, GPON) can be built on the job.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute test plans for OLT products across GPON, XGS-PON, and 50G-PON
• Conduct functional, performance, stability, and compatibility testing on embedded software systems
• Build and maintain automated test scripts to improve test coverage and efficiency
• Investigate and document software defects; collaborate with development teams to drive resolution
• Support version verification, regression testing, and release validation for commercial deployment

What You'll Bring

Must-Have

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in embedded software testing or test development
• Working proficiency in C/C++ — comfortable reading, writing, or debugging test code
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages for test automation
• Strong defect investigation and root cause analysis skills
• Ability to work independently to design test schemes and troubleshoot technical issues

Nice-to-Have (Not Required)

• Experience with telecom, networking, or fiber access technologies (GPON, OLT, OMCI)
• Exposure to automated test frameworks (ATC-style or equivalent)
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot)
• Experience with network protocols (IP, Ethernet, VLAN) or timing protocols (PTP, NTP)
