Position : Software Engineer

Type of Employment : Permanent

Location : Petaling Jaya

Reporting to: IT Manager

Salary Range : RM3,500.00 – RM4,500.00 per month

Job responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement software applications;
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code based on best practices;
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment;
• Assist in debugging and troubleshooting issues across various software applications;
• Contribute to the design and architecture of new features;
• Write unit tests and conduct peer code reviews to ensure high-quality software;
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies; and
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve processes and performance.

Job requirements:

• Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field;
• Have sound understanding of core programming concepts, data structures and algorithms;
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript or similar;
• Exposure to web development technologies such as HTML and CSS is an advantage;
• Possess basic understanding of databases such as SQL with the ability to write basic queries;
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git;
• Have strong analytical, organisational, creative thinking and problem-solving skills;
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; and
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
