About the Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer (Governance Specialist）to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the company's data governance framework. This role will work closely with data, engineering, compliance, and business teams to ensure data assets are well-managed, trusted, compliant, and easily discoverable across the organization.

• Support enterprise data governance initiatives, including data cataloging, metadata management, data lineage, data quality, data classification, and data lifecycle management.
• Maintain and improve data standards, naming conventions, business glossaries, data dictionaries, and metric definitions.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to document and manage critical data assets and governance processes.
• Assist in implementing data compliance controls, including sensitive data identification, classification, masking, retention, and audit requirements.
• Support regulatory reporting and data governance requirements within financial services and regulated environments.
• Support the rollout and adoption of governance platforms such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Alibaba Cloud DataWorks Data Map, or similar solutions.
• Promote data governance best practices and help drive data stewardship awareness across business teams.
• Prepare governance reports, metrics, and dashboards to measure governance effectiveness and data quality performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5 years+ of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, data analytics, data engineering, or related fields.
• Experience working in financial services, fintech, banking, payments, or other regulated industries is preferred.
• Solid understanding of data governance frameworks and industry best practice
• Familiarity with metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage, data quality, or master data management concepts.
• Hands-on experience with one or more governance tools, such as DataHub, Apache Atlas, DataWorks Data Map, Collibra, Informatica, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with data privacy and compliance requirements, such as PIPL, GDPR, or related regulations.
• Exposure to Databricks Unity Catalog or modern cloud data platforms is a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple teams.
