Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Retail Assistant role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The Senior Retail Assistant supports daily store operations, including welcoming customers, providing product advice, and ensuring an excellent in-store experience that reflects the Kapten Batik brand. Responsibilities include driving retail sales, assisting with visual merchandising, maintaining stock displays, and keeping the store clean, organized, and presentable. The role also includes handling point-of-sale transactions, managing exchanges or returns in line with company policies, and supporting inventory counts and replenishment. The Senior Retail Assistant may guide junior team members, help implement promotions, and provide feedback on customer preferences to improve store performance.
Qualifications
  • Strong customer-focused mindset, with proven Customer Service and Customer Experience skills.
  • Effective Communication abilities, including clear verbal communication and active listening with diverse customers and teammates.
  • Demonstrated capability in Retail Sales and Sales, with confidence in product recommendation and upselling while maintaining integrity.
  • Previous experience in fashion, apparel, or lifestyle retail is preferred.
  • Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
  • Comfort using POS systems and basic digital tools for transactions and reporting.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional language skills are an advantage.
