Role Description This full-time Software Engineer / Developer role at Comité Especializado en Economía Circular-CIP is a hybrid position based in Singapore River, with flexibility to work from home part of the time. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions that support circular economy and sustainability initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, implementing back-end services and APIs, integrating third-party systems, and optimizing application performance and reliability. The Software Engineer / Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and participate in code reviews and sprint planning. The role also includes troubleshooting issues, deploying updates, contributing to technical documentation, and continuously improving development practices and tools.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript).
• Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including building RESTful APIs, working with databases, and integrating services.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their application in scalable, maintainable software design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, or CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage time independently, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Interest in sustainability, circular economy, or environmental impact projects is highly beneficial.
