Company Description The Selangor Climate Adaptation Centre (SCAC) is the state’s focal point for driving climate resilience and sustainable development in Selangor. Established by the Selangor State Government, SCAC advances climate adaptation policies, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and data-informed decision-making to strengthen communities and ecosystems. The centre aligns climate priorities across government, agencies, academia, the private sector, and civil society through its three core pillars: Policy, Capacity Development, and Strategic Partnerships. With a strong focus on practical, locally driven solutions, SCAC contributes to state and national climate goals.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Shah Alam for a Special Projects and Corporate Communications professional. The role involves coordinating and delivering special projects that support SCAC’s strategic objectives, including climate adaptation initiatives, partnerships, and outreach programs. The individual will plan, draft, and manage internal and external communications, including corporate statements, speeches, newsletters, presentations, and key messages for leadership. Day-to-day tasks also involve maintaining consistent branding, developing content for digital channels, coordinating stakeholder engagements, preparing reports and project documentation, and collaborating with team members to ensure timely and effective project execution.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey complex climate and policy concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience with internal & external communications, including drafting corporate messages, leadership talking points, and stakeholder updates.
- Proven experience in project management, including planning, coordination, and monitoring of multi-stakeholder or cross-functional projects.
- Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills, with attention to detail and consistency across channels and formats.
- Ability to work collaboratively with government agencies, NGOs, academia, and private sector partners, and to engage communities respectfully and inclusively.
- Familiarity with climate change, sustainability, or public policy topics is highly beneficial; experience in a policy, research, or advocacy environment is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Climate Change, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
