As a Junior Mechanical Engineer focusing on Vacuum Design, you will engineer the critical vacuum and exhaust systems that enable peak reactor performance. You will design and refine subsystem layouts, bringing precision, reliability, and efficiency to every configuration.
From technical calculations to detailed documentation, you will ensure compliance with performance, safety, and manufacturing standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help transform complex system requirements into robust, production-ready solutions that perform flawlessly in demanding environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and detail vacuum layouts including pumps, sealing concepts and pressure control components for standard systems
- Develop exhaust and gas handling routing considering packaging, safety and compliance requirements
- Perform vacuum calculations such as pump-down behavior, conductance and pressure distribution using engineering tools
- Apply tolerance stack-up and geometric dimensioning principles for assemblies and GD&T
- Conduct structured problem solving and facilitate risk assessments for own scope
- Support manufacturing and cost reduction initiative
- Manage changes and configurations in Product Lifecycle Management and Enterprise Resource Planning system
- Contribute to prototype builds and support order-to-delivery engineering tasks
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in vacuum system layout and basic engineering calculations
- Good understanding of pressure, flow and temperature control fundamentals
- Proficient in 3D computer-aided design tools and structured documentation
- Advantage to be proficient in CREO/Pro-E and ERP systems such as SAP
- Familiarity with engineering standards and safety requirements
- Experience in structured problem solving and risk assessment
- Strong analytical mindset, ownership attitude and team-oriented working style
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
