Job Description
To manage and execute end-to-end export container operations, ensuring smooth coordination between shipping lines, depots, trucking vendors, and internal teams. The role focuses on timely container movement, accurate documentation updates, customs compliance, and correct billing to support efficient export shipment execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. CMO (Container Movement Order)
- Arrange and monitor Carrier Movement Order (CMO) for container release and movement
- Coordinate with shipping lines for container availability and approval
- Ensure CMO details match booking requirements and vessel schedule
- Track and resolve CMO-related issues or delays
2. ROT (Request of Transport)
- Process ROT to internal or external haulage
- Ensure container release is authorized and aligned with cut-off schedule
- Coordinate with depot/terminal for container pick-up approval
- Monitor and follow up until release is confirmed
3. Empty Container Pick-Up
- Arrange empty container collection from depot or yard
- Coordinate trucking schedule and container inspection prior to pick-up
- Ensure correct container type, size, and condition
- Track movement until container reaches stuffing location
4. RFC (Ready for Collect)
- Empty / Laden container pick-up
- Truck dispatch / haulage arrangement
- Updated routing or schedule execution
5. VGM (Verified Gross Mass)
- Submit VGM through port system
- Coordinate weighing with customer, warehouse, or certified facilities
- Ensure VGM submission before vessel cut-off time
- Maintain proper records of VGM submission
6. SSR (Special Service Request) / Early Entry (EE)
- Handle SSR / EE such as special equipment, handling requests, or routing requirements
- Coordinate with shipping lines for approval and confirmation
- Ensure proper execution of requested services
- Avoid penalties or missed cut-off
7. Costing & Checking
- Verify all shipment-related costs against quotations and rate agreements.
- Ensure accuracy of charges including forwarding, haulage, VGM, SSR, EE.
- Monitor profitability and highlight discrepancies.
8. Billing & Invoicing
- Prepare and issue invoices, debit notes, and credit notes.
- Ensure all billing entries are accurate and supported by relevant documents.
- Coordinate with internal departments for any billing clarifications.
9. Invoice Approval
- Submit invoices for internal approval in accordance with company SOP.
- Cross-check actual costs against quoted rates and operational records.
- Ensure compliance before releasing invoices to customers.
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
Experience:
- freight forwarder: 2 years (Preferred)
