We are looking for a Director, Category Management to make an impact!

What will you do?
  • Lead the global commodity team with an annual spend of over 800M€, and a global team of 8 sourcing professionals
  • Work across the regional leadership teams to support their requirements within the global context.
  • Create, own and implement a supplier base strategy to create lasting competitive advantage to Schneider Electric
  • Work with the peers in NPI to maximally leverage new design awards
  • Assess and manage the supplier base to ensure flawless execution in terms of quality, supply chain, financial risk and contractual discipline.
  • Deliver on all operational and strategic KPI.
  • Create leverage to increase contract coverage
  • Assess and manage multiple risk factors along the supply chain, e.g. currency risks, supply risks, regulatory risks, etc.
  • Recruit, develop and mentor a strong team and drive succession planning for key roles including this Director position.
  • Be accountable for strategic relationship building with key PCB / PCBA vendors & distributors

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Power Electronics, Semiconductor Devices or Applied Physics is strongly preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in solid-state power electronics design, development, or research.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas:
  • WBG device characterisation, High-power converter design, Solid-state relay development, Power module evaluation, Power electronics application engineering
  • Track record of taking solid-state technology from concept through to commercial product release.
  • Experience working in or closely with industries such as power electronics, industrial automation, energy storage, EV systems, or data centre power infrastructure.
