About the job

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and handling payroll-related inquiries. This role supports payroll reporting, tax filings, and collaborates with HR and Finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operations.


Responsibilities

Payroll Administration & Compliance

  • Manage the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including employee compensation, deductions, and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation, tax regulations, and internal policies for both local and foreign employees.
  • Oversee monthly CPF (Central Provident Fund) payments, NS (National Service) make-up pay claims, government-paid leave claims, and other payroll-related processes.

Tax Filings & Reporting

  • Ensure the accurate and timely filing of tax documents for all employees, ensuring compliance with local and international tax requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, government bodies, and tax authorities as necessary.

Grant & Leave Claims Management

  • Oversee the submission of various government-related claims, including grant claims and leave-related reimbursements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of all employee claims in accordance with company policy and government regulations.

Internal Controls & Payroll Systems

  • Implement and monitor internal controls for payroll processes to prevent discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll records and processes to maintain compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or HR certification
  • 5 years of experience in HR, with at least 5 years in a payroll processing role or similar capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in semiconductor or manufacturing industry will be added advantage.
  • Familiarity with HRIS SuccessFactors system and Microsoft Office Suite.
