As a Data Center Project Manager, you will work with a team of engineers and technologists to support the delivery and operation of reliable, energy efficient data center infrastructure. You will play a key role in keeping the project on track, coordinating across multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring timely completion of the data center build project. As the key owner of project schedules and delivery milestones, you will drive coordination across internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure project objectives, timelines, procurement activities, construction sequencing, and operational requirements are effectively managed. You will be responsible for identifying and mitigating delivery risks, maintaining project momentum, and supporting successful project execution from planning through commissioning and handover. In addition, you may provide support for data center operational readiness, facility management initiatives, maintenance planning, and colocation projects where required, helping to ensure reliable and scalable infrastructure that meets business needs.
Job Description:
- Develop, maintain, and manage the overall project schedule, including design, tender, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, handover, and operational readiness phases; track key milestones, critical path activities, dependencies, and identify risks to project timelines.
- Plan, coordinate, and drive tender strategy, procurement sequencing, package award timelines, and construction phasing, ensuring alignment with the project schedule, design readiness, site readiness, construction sequence, and business delivery requirements.
- Review, coordinate, and align construction sequencing, phasing plans, site access strategy, work-front availability, contractor interfaces, testing and commissioning sequence, and handover requirements to support efficient and safe site execution.
- Assist the Project Director in driving overall project execution, including coordination of design, procurement, construction, authority approvals, testing and commissioning, handover, and operational readiness activities.
- Act as client representative to coordinate across internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, vendors, service providers, facility management teams, and colocation providers where applicable, to ensure alignment on scope, timeline, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and operational requirements.
- Maintain project trackers, including submission and permitting trackers, schedule trackers, procurement trackers, risk registers, issue logs, decision logs, and action item trackers; monitor approval timelines and highlight risks that may impact project schedule, construction start, testing and commissioning, handover, or operational readiness.
- Assist in reviewing design changes, site changes, variation impacts, schedule impacts, delivery risks, and operational impacts, ensuring proper documentation and change control processes are followed.
- Participate in project meetings, technical coordination workshops, design coordination workshops, site coordination activities, stakeholder reviews, and operational readiness discussions to resolve issues and maintain project progress.
- Track project progress, deliverables, critical dependencies, risks, open issues, and key decisions, and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders and management.
- Maintain proper documentation for project approvals, design submissions, tender processes, procurement decisions, stakeholder communications, meeting minutes, project records, handover documentation, and operational readiness requirements.
- Support construction phase activities, including coordination of shop drawings, material submissions, inspections, testing and commissioning activities, site sequencing issues, handover documentation, and close-out actions.
- Chair site coordination meetings, manage issue resolution, drive closure of action items, and escalate key risks or blockers where required to maintain project momentum.
- Support data center operational readiness and facility management transition activities, including handover planning, documentation review, asset information collection, maintenance planning, maintenance vendor coordination, and coordination with operations and facility management teams.
- Assist in reviewing data center facility management requirements, maintenance contract scope, MEP maintenance requirements, preventive maintenance expectations, service levels, and standard operating procedures to support reliable post-handover operations.
- Support colocation data center projects where required, acting as the tenant-side project manager to monitor landlord or colocation provider progress, review delivery milestones, track risks and delays, follow up on outstanding issues, and ensure timely delivery and handover of leased data center capacity.
- Track project progress, key deliverables, and risks, and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain proper documentation for project approvals, design submissions, tender processes, and stakeholder communications.
- Support construction phase activities, including coordination of shop drawings, material submissions, inspections, and site sequencing issues.
- Chair site coordination meetings and manage issue resolution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facilities Management, Building Services, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in project management, engineering coordination, facilities management, or construction delivery, preferably in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or high-tech manufacturing projects.
- Proven experience in developing, managing, and tracking project schedules across design, tender, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, handover, or operational readiness phases.
- Strong experience in tracking key milestones, critical path activities, dependencies, project risks, open issues, and action items, with the ability to drive follow-up actions and maintain project momentum.
- Experience in tendering processes, procurement coordination, package sequencing, construction sequencing, site execution, and coordination of contractors or vendors for large-scale projects is preferred.
- Good understanding of data center infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, building services systems, or MEP systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with testing and commissioning processes, facility handover, operational readiness, maintenance planning, or transition from project delivery to operations will be advantageous.
- Understanding of data center facility management requirements, maintenance contracts, MEP maintenance scope, preventive maintenance requirements, maintenance SOPs, service levels, or vendor management practices will be a strong plus.
- Familiarity with authority submission requirements and processes in Singapore will be advantageous.
- Strong planning, coordination, documentation, reporting, and follow-up skills, with good knowledge of project management principles and techniques.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, construction, operations, procurement, facility management, vendors, consultants, contractors, and management.
- Able to chair or support coordination meetings, track action items, follow up on open issues, and escalate risks or blockers where required.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced project and site environment.
- Strong team player with good problem-solving, organizational, execution, and ownership skills.
