Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) is looking for an enthusiastic and driven to support the implementation, administration, and maintenance of the organization’s IT Infrastructure and Network architecture across all RTS ICT environments. This role ensures the high availability, performance, and security of critical IT systems—including data centre infrastructure, enterprise networks, OT/IT convergence, and end-user computing—to facilitate safe, reliable, and uninterrupted RTS ICQC operations.
The IT Infrastructure & Network Engineer will execute technical projects, perform proactive system monitoring and troubleshooting, and ensure all systems are aligned with corporate governance frameworks and security standards under the guidance of the Infrastructure & Network Lead.
Your Role:
Infrastructure & Network Implementation:
- Execute the deployment and configuration of IT infrastructure systems (server, network, storage, backup) based on project requirements, ensuring adherence to security-by-design principles and operational standards.
System Operations ; Support:
- Perform day-to-day administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure.
- Act as a technical responder for Tier 2 and Tier 3 infrastructure incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and escalation when necessary.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement security configurations on network and server assets, adhere to security policies, and support compliance audits (e.g., ISO 27001, CIS).
- Assist in managing security tools like firewalls and SIEM solutions to protect RTS assets.
Operational Continuity & Testing:
- Participate in the maintenance of the IT infrastructure Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) / Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and support periodic testing exercises to ensure system resilience.
Technical Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all infrastructure configurations, project implementations, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and audit readiness.
Others:
- Operational Availability: Ability to provide support during critical system upgrades, migrations, and incident response outside of standard office hours as required.
- On-Call Support: Participation in the departmental on-call roster to provide out-of-hours support for critical infrastructure and network issues.
- Site Engagement: Occasional travel to remote offices, depots, and operational sites (ICQC, stations) for onsite hardware installation, maintenance, or project deployment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, VCP, Security+) are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in IT Infrastructure and Network support or engineering roles.
- Experience in supporting highly available enterprise environments, preferably within a 24/7 operational setting.
- Hands-on experience with data centre infrastructure, enterprise networking, server administration, and backup solutions.
- Familiarity with security tools (e.g., firewalls, SIEM) and infrastructure governance practices.
- Working knowledge of network architecture (TCP/IP, OSPF/BGP), LAN/WAN technologies, and network security.
- Technical proficiency in virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere) and cloud concepts.
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux server administration, Active Directory, and identity management.
- Understanding of OT/IT convergence and the requirements for securing Operational Technology (OT) environments.
