Job Summary:

  1. The Assistant Manager, Plant is responsible for the overall operational and financial performance of the plant. The role ensures customer satisfaction, productivity, quality, safety, and budget targets are achieved while maintaining compliance with company and customer requirements.
  2. The position provides leadership to plant operations, customer service, quality, logistics, and administration functions while driving continuous improvement and business growth initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Lead daily plant operations to achieve safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and financial targets.
  2. Manage plant P&L, budgets, and operating costs.
  3. Monitor and drive performance against KPIs and business objectives.
  4. Lead manpower planning, employee development, and succession planning.
  5. Ensure customer requirements and service commitments are achieved.
  6. Act as escalation point for major customer issues and business reviews.
  7. Support audits, validations, and compliance activities.
  8. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  9. Ensure compliance with company policies, cleanroom standards, and safety requirements.
  10. Provide regular performance updates and recommendations to management.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  1. Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Management, or related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing, laundry, logistics, cleanroom, or operational management environment.
  3. Minimum 2 years experience leading teams and managing operational performance.
  4. Experience managing KPIs, budgets, productivity, and customer requirements is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  2. Strong understanding of operational management and productivity improvement.
  3. Experience with ERP and reporting systems is preferred.
  4. Able to analyze operational and financial performance data.

Personal Competencies:

  1. Strong leadership and coaching skills.

  3. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  4. Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  5. Able to manage change and drive continuous improvement.

Language

  1. Good written and spoken English.
  2. Bahasa Malaysia required.
  3. Additional language skills such as Mandarin or Japanese are an advantage.
