Senior Business Analyst (General & Motor Insurance) – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

With 500+ successful projects in industries like Finance, Healthcare, Retail, and Education, we are expanding our footprint in Malaysia and seeking a Senior Business Analyst with deep expertise in General & Motor Insurance.


About the Role

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in bridging business needs with technical solutions. You’ll lead requirements gathering, optimize insurance processes, and ensure compliance while collaborating with stakeholders across underwriting, claims, policy administration, and customer onboarding.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements gathering for Motor & General Insurance products.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define objectives, scope, and functional needs.
  • Document business requirements, user stories, and process flows.
  • Assess and optimize workflows in underwriting, claims, and policy administration.
  • Define and communicate data requirements to development and QA teams.
  • Conduct gap analysis and impact assessments for new initiatives.
  • Translate insurance regulations into actionable system requirements.
  • Support QA, UAT, and defect triage to ensure delivery quality.
  • Drive change management for smooth adoption of new systems.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on insurance standards and industry trends.


Requirements

  • 10+ years of business analysis experience in Insurance, with 5+ years in Motor & General Insurance.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Business, Insurance, Finance, Information Systems, or related fields.
  • Proven track record in delivering insurance-related projects.
  • Strong knowledge of policy administration, underwriting, claims, and compliance.
  • Expertise in documenting requirements, user stories, and process flows.
  • Proficiency with BPMN, UML, and business process modeling tools.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Mandatory certifications: CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with insurance platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, etc.) is a plus.
